Prayers up!

Roy Jones JR. announces his son, DeAndre, dies by suicide.

“Unfortunately, my son DeAndre took his life on Saturday,” Jones Jr confirmed. “I’m so thankful that God allowed me to come home Friday night to spend the last night of his life with me and the family.”

“I know a lot of people are going through tough times right now, but nothing is worth taking your own life. God gives it and God should be the one to take it away.”

”Please respect our privacy while my family and I process this loss. Thank you for the love and support.”

DeAndre is survived by his father, his mother Natlyn, and siblings DeShaun and Roy III.

Jones is a legendary boxer with an extensive 66-10 record, and 47 knockouts career. He is a former middleweight champion. He also won the WBA heavyweight title in 2003, becoming the first to ever be champion in both weight classes in WBA history.

His comment section flooded with love and condolences following the announcement. “My heart aches for you and your family. I pray you are surrounded by an abundance of love and god protects you and your family while giving his guidance as you grieve..” commented UFC fighter Cris Cyborg.

“Sorry for your loss Roy, may your son’s soul rest in peace and may he no longer be suffering from whatever he was going through..” reacted one fan. “I was in a very similar situation when I was young and feel your pain and confusion. I couldn’t agree with you more! Stay strong Champ!!” comments another.

We are sending our love and condolences to Roy Jones and his family. May DeAndre rest peacefully.
