Sabrina Carpenter has delivered on her promise to stand up for Nicki Minaj by narrowly beating Travis Scott in a thrilling chart showdown.
On Tuesday (Sept. 3), after a suspenseful holiday hiatus, the Billboard 200 finally dropped the results, revealing the thrilling end to this week’s chart race.
According to the figures, Sabrina Carpenter’s summer hit Short n’ Sweet clocked in with a whopping 362,000 units—breaking down to 233 million streams and 184,000 pure sales. Meanwhile, Travis Scott’s Utopia barely missed the mark by just 600 units.
Sabrina had vowed to deliver a win for Nicki Minaj in their epic chart clash with Travis Scott, echoing the legendary 2018 battle between his Astroworld and Nicki’s Queen. And boy, did her Short n’ Sweet album come through with a close finish!
Elsewhere in the news, Kid Cudi and Travis Scott’s highly anticipated joint album, The Scotts, has been axed.
In 2020, Kid Cudi and Travis Scott teased a joint album under the moniker The Scotts. However, by 2022, Cudi had dashed those hopes, revealing to Billboard that the project was officially off.
On Sunday (August 25), Cudi made it clear once again after a fan inquired about the album. The fan tweeted, ‘When are we getting the Scotts album Cudi.’
To which Cudi responded, ‘That ship came and went my friend. Let’s move on. So much more to see and hear.’”

While the promised Scotts album remains a pipe dream, Kid Cudi and Travis Scott have still managed to drop some beats together. In 2023, Cudi joined Travis on his Utopia album and Pharrell Williams’ track “At The Party.”
After a dramatic Coachella ankle break sidelined him for months, Cudi’s been hustling hard to bounce back. Though he had to scrap his tour, he made his grand comeback at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh mid-August.
