ScarLip’s rising star keeps getting brighter. The 23-year-old Bronx native burst onto the scene in 2022 with her viral hit, “Glizzy Gobbler.” Not too long after, in 2023, she released her breakout single, “This Is New York.” Now, the young rapper has landed a spot on the new Bad Boys film soundtrack. On the track, “Mike T,” (a reference to Mike Tyson), ScarLip brings her natural gritty flare. “Check on b*tch like Nike/Flex on a b*tch like Spike Lee,” she raps. “Beat on a b*tch like Mike T/ Don’t run her up, tell a hoe come find me.”
Following the film’s release on Friday (June 7), ScarLip hopped on social media to tearfully express her gratitude for the opportunity. “I’m just so amazed at my life,” she began. “That’s crazy. Where I’m from bro, that sh*t…I really worked hard in my life, you feel me?” She continued: “To be there [at the film’s premiere] and just to see Martin and Will Smith for the first time in my life, and to hear my song in a movie, I said, ‘I did it.’ I can’t believe that.”

For Bad Boys: Ride or Die — the franchise’s fourth installment —Will Smith and Martin Lawrence returned to reprise their roles as the iconic buddy-cop duo, Mike Lowrey (Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Lawrence). Per the film’s synopsis: “After their late police captain gets linked to drug cartels, wisecracking Miami cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett embark on a dangerous mission to clear his name.”
Not only that, but Will Smith recently joined Jimmy Fallon alongside Martin Lawrence where the trio discussed the upcoming film. Smith also reveals that he and Lawrence weren’t initially picked for the job. It turns out that it was Fallon’s former SNL buddies, comedians Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz.
