From the stage to the squared circle, Sexyy Red appeared on WWE NXT Tuesday (May 28) alongside NXT General Manager Ava, The Rock’s daughter, where two major announcements were made.
Firstly, Sexyy Red will host NXT Battleground on Sunday, June 9, at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Secondly, the new NXT Women’s North American Championship title belt was unveiled by the Hood Princess. During the show, Sexyy Red thwarted Tatum Paxley’s attempt to steal the belt before Michin entered the ring.
Following the announcement, Sexyy Red valleted NXT superstar Je’von Evans and NXT champion Tricky Williams in a tag-team match against Gallus. The audience chanted, “Get It, Sexyy,” as she twerked around the ring. Evans and Williams won the match and celebrated with the St. Louis rap star.
Ahead of NXT, Sexyy Red shared a video on Instagram of her and WWE legend Shawn Michaels singing Michael’s classic theme song, “Sexy Boy.” Red is the latest hip-hop star to appear on WWE television with recent guests, including Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and Meek Mill.
Sexyy Red’s appearance arrives after the rapper released her latest EP over the weekend. In Sexyy, We Trust features Drake, Lil Baby, and Mike Will-Made-It.
Sexyy Red is set to perform at this year’s Summer Jam, joining an all-star lineup including French Montana, Doja Cat, Ty Dolla $ign, Lola Brooke, and more.
