Simone Biles’ biological mother, Shannon Biles, would like to make amends with her daughter.
During a recent interview with Daily Mail, Shanon, the biological mother of the seven-time Olympic gold medalist, speaks on her relationship with Simone. She says she hopes she forgives her, one day.
Shanon, 52, suffered from alcoholism and gave up Simone and her younger sister, Adria, to their grandfather and grandmother, Ron and Nellie Biles.
“I would like to make amends with Simone personally — I’m just waiting for her and [her younger sister] Adria,” Shanon told the outlet. “I speak to Adria more than I speak to Simone- I would just ask her to forgive me. Can we move forward? Don’t judge me on my past. Let’s move forward. I’m waiting for the opportunity but I’m waiting on her to be able to come to me. Let’s sit down. I just have to be patient.”
Shanon says she watched the 2024 Olympics, where the decorated gymnast earned four medals, three gold and one silver.
“What I hear about Simone I hear through my dad. I speak to my dad all the time. We’re good now. It was just his birthday, and I called to wish him happy birthday,” Shanon added. “If I need to know anything I call my dad. I ask him about Simone, and he keeps me posted.”
Simone seemingly reacted to the interview. Shared on The Shade Room, seemingly referring to her grandparents/adopted parents, Biles wrote “my parents bought me my Hermes bag. Don’t be mad at me, be mad at your parents.”
“That’s her subtle way of saying “me and the parents that have been there for me are good over here” reacted one fan to Simone’s message. “So basically she just told her biological mom, You can’t sit with us..” comments another.
Simone has not to directly addressed her biological mother’s interview as of yet.
