Snoop Dogg recently shared his opinion about which side of the aisle he falls on regarding politics, following the recent election. On Nov.13, while unveiling his new jewelry line in Hollywood, CA, the rapper was asked to respond to the recent election. Former president Donald Trump, was re-elected to be the 47th president on Nov.5. According to Snoop Dogg, he doesn’t “believe in separating people,” for the sake of politics. “I’m not looking for separation…I’m not looking for division…I’m looking for people to come together.
The Doggystyle rapper noted that he removed himself from the scene during election time, and revealed it was a calculated move on his part. “When all of the hoopla was going on about voting, notice I was nowhere to be seen. I wanted it to be like that, cause I don’t believe in separating people, I believe in bringing us together.” Snoop Dogg added, “I don’t represent the Democratic Party or the Republican Party, I represent the Gangsta Party.”
Snoop says he ‘loves and respects’ donald trump
Back in January, Snoop Dogg explained why he has nothing but “love and respect” for Donald Trump. The rapper claims that Trump was behind the prison release of a former Death Row colleague. However, Snoop’s support of Trump wasn’t always as strong. In 2020, after becoming eligible to vote Snoop headed to the polls to “get that punk” (Donald Trump) out of office. The rapper’s voter status had been withheld for decades due to his felon status.
“I ain’t never voted a day in my life, but this year I think I’m going to get out and vote because I can’t stand to see this punk in office one more year.” At the time Snoop believed it was important for people to come together and “make a difference.” He added, “I can’t talk about it and not be about it. I can’t tell you to do it and then not go do it. If I tell you to do something, I done it already.”
