Soulja Boy has some strong words for Drake, especially following the recent battle with Kendrick Lamar. On Tuesday morning (July 16), the “Crank That” rapper took to social media to voice his thoughts about the beef. According to Soulja Boy, Drake’s collaborators deserted him when it mattered most. “You disappointed me @Drake,” Soulja Boy wrote on X (Twitter). “Doing all them weak ass songs with them n*****s, look where it got you. None of them n*****s you collab with or took on tour had your back.”

During the battle, Drake faced criticism not only from Kendrick Lamar but also from several of his past collaborators like Rick Ross, The Weeknd, and Kanye West. Even J. Cole, who had initially dissed Kendrick, ended up apologizing and backing out of the beef. Soulja Boy kept a neutral stance but did engage in some back-and-forth with Metro Boomin, Drake’s adversary, and 21 Savage, Drake’s frequent collaborator and co-creator of Her Loss.

One of the most memorable moments of Soulja Boy’s career involving Drake happened during a 2019 appearance on The Breakfast Club. When the hosts suggested that Drake was the biggest rapper in the world, Soulja Boy accused him of copying his style. “Draaaaaaake? Draaaaaaaaake?” he exclaimed. “The n****a that got bodied by Pusha T? The n****a that’s hiding his kid from the world, but the world’s hiding from the kid? Aubrey Graham in a wheelchair? Draaaaaake? Y’all n*****s better stop playing with me, man. Y’all talking about the light-skinned n***a from Degrassi?”

Soulja Boy’s latest remarks further highlight the complexities and tensions within the rap community, shedding light on the loyalty (or lack thereof) among Drake’s collaborators.
