SZA is taking a hiatus from live performances to focus on her personal life. The singer announced this break after concluding her festival tour at Montreal’s Osheaga Festival on August 5th. On social media, SZA wrote, “Yesterday was my last show for a while. Finally bout to get my life together thank u God.”

This decision follows a busy period for SZA, who has been on the road since early 2023. Her SOS Tour took her to 63 locations around the globe, and she continued performing throughout the summer at major festivals, including Lollapalooza in Chicago and Glastonbury in the U.K., with Osheaga being her final stop.

Despite the break from live shows, SZA is still engaged in her music career. During her Lollapalooza performance, she introduced a new track titled “Cry Baby,” informing the audience, “It’s not out, but it will be.” She is also working on a project named Lana, which she promises will include fresh, unreleased material. “Will be dropping the leaks and outtakes from SOS as promised as the deluxe asap,” SZA wrote on X in March. “Lana deserves more time and music no one’s ever heard before.” There’s also speculation about a possible collaboration with Paramore.

SZA’s creative energy remains strong as she takes her hiatus. She recently expressed admiration for fellow artist Chappell Roan’s performance at Lollapalooza on Instagram, saying, “She makes me wanna keep making new music n art forever.”

The break comes at a high point in SZA’s career. Her album SOS, released in December 2022, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and continued to perform well. Her single “Kill Bill” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 2023, marking her first solo chart-topping hit and maintaining a strong presence in the top 10.
