Rapper T.I. was mistakenly detained for at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport on Sunday night due to a case of mistaken identity. an arrest warrant for another person with the same name. The arrest warrant was for another person named Clifford Harris, who is wanted in Baltimore, Maryland, for alleged violent acts against a woman, stalking, and possibly possessing a firearm.
Following his mistaken identity arrest, T.I. was taken to Clayton County Jail. Because the warrant originated from out of state, the arrest automatically triggered an extradition hearing. T.I.’s attorney, Steve Sadow, quickly intervened, contacting the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office. Thanks to his efforts, T.I. was released within two hours. The judge then reviewed and dismissed the extradition request.
It was noted that the Clifford Harris sought in the warrant weighs around 205 pounds, whereas T.I. is approximately 165 pounds. The warrant was issued based on a complaint filed on June 13th of this year.
In a separate legal matter, T.I. and his wife, Tiny Harris, are facing a lawsuit alleging that they drugged and sexually assaulted a woman in 2005. According to the lawsuit, the woman was given a drink by Tiny at a club and later ended up in a hotel room with the couple, where she claimed Tiny engaged in inappropriate behavior and T.I. assaulted her despite her refusal. T.I. and Tiny have strongly refuted these allegations, asserting that they have been consistently denying them for the past three years. They stated, “For THREE years, we have emphatically and categorically denied these allegations. Our position is clear… We are innocent of these fake claims, we will not be shaken down, and we look forward to our day in court.”
