As one beef settles, a new one arises. The Game has returned to rap and started a new feud with Rick Ross. He released a diss track called “Freeway’s Revenge.”
DJ Akademiks premiered the new song on his live stream Thursday evening (May 9). The official audio was released on Datpiff after Akademiks’ livestream. Game returns to his sinister side on the track as he talks about Rick Ross’ weight, past as a correctional officer, authenticity, and more.
“The real Rick Ross know every bird gotta leave the nest,” he raps. “You stole your name, I pulled your file (facts) / You looked at B.I.G. and stole his style (facts) / I smell pussy, that odor fat (fat) / You ain’t sold no birds, you trolled the owl.”
He continued his diss against the Bawse: “He gon’ tell us he just bought another crib, he livin’ well / But he won’t tell us about his health condition, he sick as hell / He poppin’ pills, they startin’ to fuck with his brain / Seizures off the lean, Balenciagas shorts got the shit stains / He not a mastermind, he Gotti, line after line / Lay back in the Maybach, makin’ up shit just to pass the time.”
According to Game’s Instagram Stories on May 7, the feud between The Game and Rick Ross originates from the Bawse’s beef with Drake. They read:
“It’s quiet today Wingstop must be closed on Mondays,” and “It be the fat n****s with the skinny legs always running they mouth.”
Rick Ross was part of the group of rappers who dissed Drake last month, with the “Hustlin’” rap star releasing his own solo diss song and music video titled “Champagne Moments.” Drake would respond to his former collaborator while directing a majority of his attention towards his rival, Kendrick Lamar, in three diss songs “Push Ups,” “Family Matters,” and “The Heart Pt. 6.”
The Game and Rick Ross’s history spans decades, with the two collaborating in the past on previous songs like “Ali Bomaye,” “Heavy Artillery,” and “Save The Best For Last.” They shared a common enemy in 50 Cent in the past. Both are battle-tested with resumes that include beef with the biggest names in hip-hop, such as Jeezy, Joe Budden, and Birdman.
Rick Ross has yet to respond to The Game’s new diss track.
