Authorities have announced three arrests in the June murder of rapper Foolio, with two more suspects still wanted in connection to the crime.

On Monday (July 29), Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw, Hillsborough County State Attorney Suzy Lopez, and Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters teamed up for a joint press conference where they dished on the latest on the Foolio murder case. Over the weekend, Jacksonville saw three arrests: Isaiah Chance, 21; Alicia Andrews, 21; and Sean Gathright, 18, all of whom are now facing murder charges. Meanwhile, the hunt is still on for two more suspects, Davion Murphy, 27, and Rashad Murphy, 30, who remain at large.

According to police, Gathright and the two elusive Murphys are believed to be the individuals who opened fire on Foolio, born Charles Jones, on the fateful night.

“These individuals took extreme measures to try and cover their actions but they were no match for our investigators,” said Chief Bercaw, addressing the press.

All five suspects are now facing charges of premeditated first-degree murder with the use of a firearm. To top it off, the press conference featured a dramatic reveal of surveillance footage showing the suspects lurking around a Holiday Inn parking lot and taking shots at Foolio’s car.

On June 23, Foolio was shot and killed in Tampa. The Jacksonville native’s death was confirmed by his lawyer, Lewis Fusco. Foolio, who had just turned 26, was ambushed in a Holiday Inn parking lot after being kicked out of an Airbnb party. A Tampa Police statement read: “The victim in this morning’s shooting is believed to be Charles Jones.” Three others were injured during the shooting. A woman claiming to be his girlfriend posted on X: “Y’all took my boyfriend from me. I hate you all, and I won’t be the only one crying.” Foolio, known for his 2018 hit “Coming Up,” had nearly 1,000,000 Instagram followers and over 600,000 YouTube subscribers.
