Tina Knowles delivered an emotional speech about motherhood at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards on October 8th, moving her daughter Beyoncé to tears. The event took place in New York City, where Tina was honored alongside other celebrity mothers, including those of Selena Gomez, Billie Eilish, and Travis and Jason Kelce.

During her acceptance speech for the Woman of the Year award, the 70-year-old shared her thoughts. She reflected on the immense joy her daughters have brought into her life. She specifically mentioned Beyoncé and Solange. Their presence has filled her with pride. “My daughters have brought me such incredible joy and pride in my life, far more than anything else. They are my crew, my tribe, my rocks, my ride or dies,” she expressed. As she continued, her voice trembled with emotion. “They have been right there by my side at the lowest points of my life and they have cheered me on at the highest points of my life, making me feel like I can conquer anything.” The camera captured Beyoncé, visibly emotional as she wiped away tears.

When asked about her proudest moments with her daughters, Tina responded, “What I’m most proud of is the human beings that they are. How they have managed to stay humble, grounded, generous, gracious, and kind, and how they managed to put it all into their art.”

A touching video tribute played during the ceremony, featuring Beyoncé and Solange, along with family members and friend Kelly Rowland. Beyoncé noted, “Why do I love my mom? What’s not to love about my mom? She’s also protective and if you try her, Galveston will come out.” Solange added, “My mom inspires me by being a powerhouse. There is power in her hands. She is the best grandmother and the epitome of a woman with so much nuance.”

Tina has previously shared her pride in Beyoncé, recalling a moment when her daughter stood up for a bullied classmate. “Beyoncé was very shy and she got bullied a bit. But the day that she stood up for someone—I couldn’t have been more proud of her,” she said, becoming emotional.
