Tory Lanez’s legal team issued a response following Megan Thee Stallion’s candid statements in the In Her Words documentary.

Released on Amazon Prime Video on October 31, the documentary features Megan admitting she lied during a 2022 interview with Gayle King about having a sexual relationship with Lanez.

In a clip circulating widely, Megan The Stallion addresses the matter bluntly: “Yes, I lied to Gayle King. I didn’t know she was even going to ask about that. We were supposed to be discussing the shooting, not my relationship with Tory.”

Megan continued, adding, “Even if it was about that, it happened once, maybe twice, during a drunk night.” The film also explores Megan’s mental health and emotional struggles following Lanez’s conviction in the 2022 shooting case.

In response, a representative for Lanez’s legal team told TMZ, “Megan’s admission of lying about her relationship with Tory makes her an unreliable witness. If someone lies in front of millions, how can they be trusted otherwise?”

They noted Lanez’s ongoing appeal, which includes his claim of “previous false statements” made by Megan.

Lanez was sentenced in August 2023 to ten years in prison on three charges: assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of an unregistered loaded firearm, and negligent discharge of a firearm. He was credited for 305 days served from time in jail and house arrest. His legal team has faced setbacks, most recently filing an ethics complaint against former attorney Shawn Holley on October 28, accusing her of ties to Megan’s management,

Roc Nation. Holley called the complaint “meritless,” suggesting it was likely linked to his appeal.
