Bradford Cohen, Travis Scott‘s attorney, filed a motion to dismiss the entertainer’s Trespassing case in Florida court on Tuesday (August 20).

The 33-year-old entertainer was arrested in Miami on June 20 for trespassing and intoxication. According to the police report, officers responded to an altercation at a marina. In the marina, law enforcement encountered La Flame arguing with someone on one of the yachts. The person who called the police requested Scott’s removal.

Authorities claimed they instructed him to leave the area, but he allegedly returned and became belligerent, leading to his arrest. Prosecutors have already dropped the disorderly intoxication charge, leaving only the trespassing charge, with the trial scheduled for September.

Scott is seeking to have the case dismissed, arguing that the Miami marina where he was arrested lacked visible “No Trespassing” signs. There were “No Trespassing” signs on nearby private property, but these did not apply to the marina where the incident occurred, according to Scott’s legal team.

The ruling of Scott’s dismissal motion remains to be seen. The defense also contends that Scott’s arrest was questionable due to its location. Police reportedly apprehended him at a private parking lot, not at the Miami Beach Marina itself.

Travis Scott joked about the Miami arrest after his mugshot went viral. He made t-shirts with his mugshot and sold them on his official website.

At the Paris Olympics, Scott was arrested again after an altercation with a bodyguard in August. No charges were made and Scott was released from custody hours later.
