Trippie Redd and Coi Leray have reignited their romance after a tumultuous split a few years ago, and Trippie is now opening up about winning her back. During a party in New York City for his new clothing line on September 10th, Trippie shared with TMZ how he managed to rekindle their relationship. “You know [I reached out and said I missed her]. [We were on the low for] a little while – we just been talking. That’s my boo,” he revealed.
When asked about potential future music collaborations, Trippie confirmed, “It’s coming.”
Trippie and Coi first dated briefly in 2019 but went through a very public breakup. The split inspired Trippie’s emotional track “Leray,” where he sang, “It was love at first sight and misery after two months/ Always feeling fucked up either by love or no love.” He reflected on the song, saying, “You were only fuckin’ with my feelings because you didn’t know your own/ I do miss who I thought you were/ And sometimes I’m miserable without you.”
In a 2020 interview with No Jumper, Coi discussed their relationship, describing Trippie as her soulmate but acknowledging that the timing was off. “I met Trippie when he was like 19 and I was 21. We were just both young,” she said. “I’m an up-and-coming female artist, I had a lot going on, I had a big team. And he had a lot going on at the time, too.” She also touched on their clash of egos, noting, “It’s very hard to have two alphas in love.”
Rumors of their rekindled romance surfaced recently. In early August, Coi posted a screenshot of a FaceTime call with Trippie, writing on X, “Sleeping on FaceTime, waking up on FaceTime [smiling face with hearts emoji].” Trippie showed his affection by posting a photo with a Goyard shopping bag and the caption, “Yeah, she loves me.”
