Tyrese Gibson recently delved into his personal history during an interview with Gillie and Wallo, revealing the lengths his late mother, Priscilla Murray Gibson, went to in order to support their family. He recounted a poignant story from his childhood where his mother allegedly had him feign a learning disability. This was reportedly to secure just under $800 from Social Security, which would help with the family’s financial needs. Despite the gravity of the situation, Tyrese humorously labeled this moment as his “first acting gig” and acknowledged that Priscilla was his “first director.”

This disclosure has stirred up discussions about the sacrifices his mother made, including the decision to have him fake a disability for financial aid, and the impact of his grief on his life. While some are debating the choice of language used, Tyrese’s reflection underscores the emotional weight of losing a loved one and its ongoing influence on him.

In a separate development, Tyrese has publicly criticized his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, over legal disputes. On Instagram Live, he voiced his frustration about her lawyers demanding extensive financial documentation. “I just got another letter from her lawyers,” Tyrese revealed. “Requesting that I send over all of my tax returns and all of my bank statements because she’s trying to get $20,000 and I think they’re trying to take it up to, like, 40.” He accused Samantha and her legal team of capitalizing on his recent successes, alleging they were aiming to increase their legal fees.

Tyrese characterized the situation as a “dirty, dirty game,” expressing his dissatisfaction with the ongoing legal battle. He requested support from his followers, noting that the appeals court is expected to deliver a verdict on his divorce case by August 25th.
