Fans of Vince Staples have reason to celebrate as “The Vince Staples Show” scores a second season.

According to Deadline, the Kenya Barris-backed series, also executive produced by the rapper-turned-actor himself, Corey Smyth, Edelman (Edelgang), Williams, and William Stefan Smith, is officially headed back to Netflix.

First announced in 2022, the series poses the question, “Who’s Vince Staples? Well, that’s a tricky question. He’s kind of famous, but he’s not. He’s kind of rich, but he’s not. He’s also kind of a criminal. But he’s…not? Follow him on his daily adventures, where anything that can go wrong usually does.”

The news follows Staples’ recent remarks in which he expressed gratitude over the project’s warm reception.

“I’m grateful,” he told journalist Andre Gee, while promoting his new album, Dark Times, despite uncertainty surrounding the future of the show. “I got to do something that isn’t really done on that network, or just done in general, with trying to break format and conventional comedy. I’m just trying some new things. So, I’m very happy that people embraced it, and we’ll see how they feel about it moving forward. We’re still trying to see what’s going to happen with that. But, looking forward to other opportunities in the medium.”

Staples, usually known for stirring the pot, was pleasantly surprised by the warm reception of his show. When asked about its popularity, he quipped:

“I don’t usually make things that people universally enjoy,” he admitted. “I think I have a niche fan base. I’ve never experienced extreme mainstream success. So, I’m always prepared for mixed reactions or something not being well-received. Honestly, I was surprised by how well it was received. But, yeah, man, I just feel like this show went very well, and especially for first-time writing, first-time producing, first-time starring in all of these things, I’m grateful for that.”
