Waka Flocka recently shared his feelings shortly after news broke about his request to seal the records of his ongoing divorce. He updated his petition against Tammy Rivera following her social media clash with his current girlfriend, Melanie. In the updated filing, Waka sought a confidentiality agreement to prevent public discussion of their divorce.
Responding to the news becoming public, Waka posted a meme on Instagram expressing contentment with what he has. The meme emphasized a desire for only what God intends for him to have. Waka captioned the post with words reflecting his current mindset, stating “I’m at Peace and if you tryna steal or take that from me, you gotta be working for the little devil”
He further expressed gratitude for overcoming past challenges and emphasized his reliance on faith during difficult times. Waka conveyed love to everyone and hoped for an end to suffering, reflecting on his turbulent past and crediting God for guiding him through those times.
Last week, Tammy and Melanie appeared to throw shade at each other on Instagram Stories, adding tension to their relationship. The situation escalated when Charlie Rivera, Tammy and Waka’s 18-year-old daughter, joined in, seemingly responding to Melanie’s post implying Tammy was past her prime. Amid this exchange, Tammy revealed they were still legally married, despite Waka filing for divorce on May 23, 2023.
According to court documents, Tammy and Waka had already separated on Dec. 1, 2021, before the divorce filing. Waka claimed in the initial petition that their marriage had no chance of reconciliation and they had been living apart since then. In his latest court filing, Waka is seeking to prevent both him and Tammy from discussing the divorce proceedings in the media, including social media, print media, and television.
Reportedly, Tammy has not responded to the divorce petition or the updated filing as of yet. The court has not made a decision on Waka’s request to restrict media discussion of the divorce.
