What Does The “F” In ‘Weezy “F” Baby’ Stand For?

“Weezy F Baby & the ‘F’ is for find out.”

Over the course of Lil Wayne’s career – he has consistently told us what the “F” in Weezy F Baby stands for. So I decided to break down the many things the “F” stands for.

Things That Don’t Start with F

Jokes on you – sometimes the “F” doesn’t stand for a word that starts with an F. He infamously refers to himself as “Weezy F Baby and the F is for Phenomenal” in Yes with Pharrell. The other two begin with the instruction “don’t forget” in Turnin’ Me On with Keri Hilson and Whip It.

The F Stands for a lot of Things

In this case, Lil Wayne is allowing you to paint a picture. He is saying “Here, dear listener. I’ll tell you this much, my middle name begins with an F, the rest is up to you.” You can fill in the blank, find out or pick between faithful, funky, freshly, flavor, flawless, fleek, finesse, or finagle – like he instructs on Main Thing on the Dedication 6.

What the F isn’t for

At times, Weezy F. Baby needs to remind us what the “F” isn’t for. This is a great lense into the artist’s mind – these are the things that Dwayne Michael Carter genuinely dislikes and would like us to keep away from his name.

Things Lil Wayne Would Like you to do

Tunechi would like for you to – “fornicate” in both Bill Gates and New Orleans Maniac. Then in the Bow Wow song Sweat he’d like you to “follow me straight to my condo.”

How He Feels

Sometimes the “F” is just here to let you know how he feels. In Miss Me alongside Drake it meant “ferocious,” then in Whip It he’s “the ample fury.”

Variations of Fuck

“Fuck” is a word of 16th century Germanic origin. Weezy uses this term to evoke deep emotions from the listener. The “F” is to fuck yourself on Nightmares of the Bottom, but could also mean fucking fantastic on DontGetIt off Tha Carter III.

  • fuck what your’re going through
  • fuck them hoes
  • fuck you
  • fucking fantastic
  • fuck yourself
  • Fuck, what you gonna do?

Obsession with Finish and Forensics

In almost Shakespearean terms Weezy is often referring to the finishing of things and to blood flow. In 6 foot 7 foot it stands for Finisher – then Forensics in Wasted off No Ceilings.

Ungroupable

These are the final ungroupable four, some artists are simply too abstract to understand. One can assume FEMA came to mention after the horrendous job they did in New Orleans post-Hurricane Katrina. I presume that he used “front door” in Miss Me as a metaphor for the possibilities that come along with every moment you walk into a new door. With every word that comes out of Weezy F Baby’s mouth he is reminding us of the possible joys in the world, as well as the inevitable demise that lies in our future. The final “F” that I’ll list is “forever boy” off of the 2009 hit I Told Y’all – because Weezy was right, he’s “Weezy F Baby and the F is for Forever, Boy.”
