According to TMZ, Will Smith became visibly emotional and teared up while honoring his late Fresh Prince of Bel-Air co-star, James Avery, who passed away in 2013.
Even with the emotional tribute, Smith kept the momentum going, entertaining the crowd with some of his classic hits. Fans took to social media to share their excitement, with one attendee describing the night as everything they had hoped for, especially when Smith threw his hat into the audience.
While Smith is widely known for his acting in Ali, The Pursuit of Happyness, and King Richard, as well as his early TV days on The Fresh Prince, his music career hasn’t been in the spotlight for years.
