Ye, formerly Kanye West, gave fans a glimpse of his upcoming music while in Tokyo this week, sharing snippets that touch on everything from his marriage to his support for Diddy.
Ye took over the DJ booth inside a packed nightclub alongside Justin LaBoy and Jim Jones, previewing new tracks. One clip features his daughter North West rapping over Dipset’s classic “I’m Ready” beat—a moment that seemed to earn Jim’s approval.
Another snippet, a remix of Future’s “Lil Demon” from Pluto, captures Ye delivering the provocative line: “Come fuck my wife with me, they love to see me shining!”
On a remix of Future and Metro Boomin’s “Magic Don Juan” from We Don’t Trust You, Ye appears to stand by Diddy amid his legal troubles, rapping about showing up at the Met Gala in Sean John apparel. The repeated line, “Might just pull up to the Met Gala in some Sean John,” suggests he’s making a statement.
These tracks are expected to appear on his upcoming album, BULLY, which he has described as a return to hands-on production. Earlier this month, he shared on Instagram that his daughter inspired him to start making beats again.
“This little girl made me love music again,” he wrote. “She asked me to make beats for her. I got back on the ASR, chopped up beats for her album, and chopped every beat with my bare hands for BULLY.”
In another clip, North is seen experimenting with an ASR-10 sampler, working alongside Kanye’s cousin and longtime collaborator Tony Williams. Ye captioned the video “training”, emphasizing her early immersion in production.
Beyond his own work, Kanye paid tribute to hip-hop legends, calling Master P his “hero” and sharing screenshots of himself listening to classics from Scarface and Souls of Mischief.
BULLY has been in the works for months, and speculation of a reunion with Mike Dean has added to the excitement. If the renowned producer is involved, it would mark their first collaboration since Donda.
While Kanye hasn’t announced a release date, he has continued teasing new material and recently revealed the album’s cover art—a striking black-and-white close-up of his 9-year-old son, Saint.
