Yella Beezy addresses a $50 million lawsuit filed against him, Chris Brown, and their entourage earlier this week.
According to TMZ, the “That’s On Me” rapper has enlisted attorney Daryl K. Washington, who maintains that his client is being falsely accused and that all allegations against him are without merit.
“Based on the information that we know, the lawsuit that includes Markies Conway, or Yella Beezy, is frivolous and without merit…” Washington says in a statement via his Washington Law Firm P.C., the outlet reports.
“[Yella Beezy] was not involved in any incident, did not have any contact with the Plaintiffs, and does not understand why he is named party in the lawsuit or the temporary restraining order that was clearly filed before all facts were obtained and verified.”
On Monday (July 22), news broke that Yella Beezy and Chris Brown were hit with a $50 million lawsuit by four men alleging they were attacked backstage at Brown’s Fort Worth show on Saturday (July 20). According to TMZ, Larry Parker, Joseph Lewis, Charles Bush, and Da Marcus Powell claim they were invited backstage, only to face a beatdown orchestrated by Brown himself.
The lawsuit states that Bush greeted Brown with a handshake, before someone from Brown’s crew shouted, “Man, you don’t remember you two were beefing?” Brown allegedly replied, “Oh yeah, we were. What’s up, n*gga? I don’t forget shit,” and then directed his crew to attack Bush, even throwing a chair at his head.
The chaos escalated as Brown allegedly instructed Beezy and others to “fuck up” Parker, who claims he endured over ten minutes of punches and kicks. The plaintiffs say they suffered serious injuries requiring ongoing medical treatment, with one still hospitalized, according to their attorney, Tony Buzbee.
Last month, Chris Brown kicked off his “11:11” tour in Detroit. The tour features high-octane performances, including a Michael Jackson voiceover, a rotating platform, and Brown soaring over the crowd on wires. The tour will visit cities like Sacramento, Las Vegas, and Phoenix before concluding in Los Angeles in August, with R&B singers Muni Long and Ayra Starr as special guests on select dates.
