YNW Melly’s lyrics could be used against him in his retrial for double murder, according to The Guardian.
As previously reported by HOT 97, the “223’s” rapper is being accused of killing two of his YNW associates in 2018. Back in July of this year, his case was declared a mistrial by a South Florida judge after jurors were unable to reach a verdict.
Melly is set to go on trial again next year and now prosecutors are planning on using his lyrics as part of the trial. He could potentially face the death penalty if convicted. “To receive something this late in the game is just part and parcel of what they’ve been doing the entire time,” Melly’s attorney Raven Liberty said of his lyrics being used as evidence.
