Young Thug shared a few words for the loss of the late great, Takeoff.
Thugger’s Twitter account sent a heartfelt message. In the Tweet, Young Thug wrote, “RIP @1YoungTakeoff. Real & Solid.”
Migos and Young Thug have a lot of history together. In 2015, they were supposed to drop a joint mixtape, MigoThuggin. Unfortunately, due to politics, it never dropped. Hot New Hip Hop points out “300 Ent. CEO Lyor Cohen blocked the project from dropping.”
Hip-hop was hit hard on Nov. 1 after reports surfaced of Takeoff’s death. At the time, he was in Houston with Quavo at a private event playing dice, then an altercation broke out, resulting in gunshots, causing Takeoff to get hit. Medical examiners ruled Takeoff’s death a homicide.
Details surrounding the altercation are fuzzy. Some reports say the argument was over the dice game, some say it wasn’t. The killer is still on the loose, and Houston police are asking the public for help. About 40-50 people were at the scene when the shooting occurred.
Takeoff’s homegoing service will happen at the State’s Farm Arena, home of the Atlanta Falcons, on Nov. 11 at 1:00 pm ET. It’s open to the public, but tickets are reportedly sold out. Justin Bieber and Alicia keys are set to perform.
Quavo has yet to speak out publicly. We’ll keep you posted when he breaks his silence.
Our hearts and thoughts continue to be with Takeoff, his family, the entire QC, and fans.
TAKEOFF FOREVER
