One of the most popular comedians of the past 17 years, and brother of Eddie Murphy, Charlie Murphy has passed away at the age of 57.
According to TMZ:
Charlie died in a NYC hospital. His manager says he’d been going through chemo.
His biggest moment came as a cameo on The Chappelle Show in the early 2000’s with his segment Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories in which he told personal stories about Rick James and Prince.
That wasn’t all he did though. He had his own stand-up specials, and he also helped write some of his brother’s films such as Norbit and Vampire in Brooklyn. He also had several cameo appearances on The Boondocks.
His wife Tisha Taylor Murphy died back in 2009 from cervical cancer. He will be survived by his four children.
