One HBCU is now facing some major for allowing it’s band to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration. Many are upset at the fact that Talladega College in Alabama, the oldest historically black liberal arts college in the state, is allowing their students to perform for a man who has been openly racist. Many people are not very happy.
Shirley Ferrill, a member of the Class of 1974, says ,
“I don’t want my alma mater to give the appearance of supporting him. Ignore, decline or whatever, but please don’t send our band out in our name to do that.”
Social media is not trying to hear it. One person tweeted,
Talladega College’s Administrators, who are forcing their band members, the “Marching Tornadoes” to march for Trump, a racist is disgusting.
Another person says,
I know Talladega College will perform anywhere but they need to turn down Trump’s invite to be a puppet in his propaganda parade
Some people have even made suggestions as to how the band should react to the opportunity.
Talladega College’s band is performing in the Trump Inaugural parade. They should play The Imperial March start to finish.
