50 Cent wants to bring Ice Cube’s BIG3 basketball league to the Big Easy.
He revealed the interest with photos of himself alongside the league’s CEO and Founder, Ice Cube, courtside at the Boston Celtics vs. Houston Rockets game in an X post on Tuesday morning with the caption: “I had so much fun at the Boston/Rockets game man,” 50 Cent wrote on X. “I told @icecube I want to bring the big 3 to Shreveport, all roads lead to Shreveport it’s a go!”
Ice Cube and his BIG3 organization were honored by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on Sunday, Jan. 15, for extraordinary contributions to basketball. Ice Cube Impact Award would be named after the 54-year-old Rock N’ Roll Hall of Famer. On Instagram, Cube will share a video of the ceremony in collaboration with the BIG3.
“Ice Cube officially in the Hall Of Fame,” Ice Cube and the BIG3 would write in the Instagram caption with fire emojis.
Founded in 2017, the BIG3 is a 3-on-3 basketball league that allows both former NBA and international basketball players to play professional basketball. The league currently consists of 12 teams. The league was inspired by Ice Cube’s affinity for basketball and playing in celebrity leagues throughout his ascension to becoming an entertainment mogul.
From X to Instagram, 50 Cent reiterated his interest in bringing a BIG3 team to Shreveport. Fans of the mogul expressed excitement about the possibility, as his Instagram post garnered over 101,000 likes and 1,000 comments in less than an hour.
It was announced last week that 50 Cent, who has conquered Hollywood with the success of his Power universe, will be opening a film and television studio in Shreveport, Louisiana, bringing more jobs and economic growth to the area.
At the Celtics/Rockets game, 50 could be seen wearing a hoodie that showcased the logos of every television/streaming network he’s done business with as an executive producer. Sire Spirits, his liquor brand, is in a multi-year partnership with the Houston Rockets.
